Upgrading a Connector Plan
Upgrading moves one connector's subscription to a higher tier — more tools and a larger monthly call allowance for that connector. Current pricing is always shown in the portal and at checkout.
Upgrades can be started by the primary owner, co-owners, or Administrators. (Administrators use the Connectors page — the Billing page itself is visible only to owners.)
Where to start an upgrade
There are two entry points:
- Connectors page — each connector card on a Free plan shows Upgrade to Pro and Upgrade to Business buttons; a Pro card shows Upgrade to Business.
- Billing page — the Upgrade button on a subscription row opens a dialog comparing the available plans, each with its price and what it includes.
The checkout flow
- Click the upgrade button for the plan you want.
- A secure checkout opens in a new tab, handled by Paddle (StackJack's payment provider). If this is your account's first purchase, your billing profile is created automatically as part of this step.
- Complete payment in the checkout tab.
- Your plan updates automatically once the payment is processed — the portal shows a confirmation that your plan will update when payment completes. This usually takes moments; refresh the page to see the new tier badge.
There is nothing to activate manually: fulfillment is driven by the payment provider confirming the transaction to StackJack.
What changes after the upgrade
- New tools appear. Tools in the new tier become available to your AI clients the next time they refresh their tool list.
- A fresh billing cycle starts. When you buy a paid plan, your billing cycle for that connector anchors to the purchase, with a reset call counter and the new plan's allowance.
- Renewals are automatic. Each successful renewal starts the next cycle and resets the call counter. Renewal dates are shown on the Billing page.
Getting Enterprise
The in-app upgrade options are Pro and Business. Enterprise (unlimited calls, full tool access, and BYOK eligibility) is arranged directly with StackJack — contact support.
Legacy website-billed subscriptions
If a connector's paid plan is still billed through the StackJack website's legacy store (WooCommerce), its upgrade buttons on the Connectors page route you to the website's checkout instead of the in-app one. Everything else works the same: complete the purchase and the plan updates automatically. (The Billing page's Upgrade dialog always uses the in-app checkout, even for website-billed subscriptions — after the new in-app subscription activates, the website one is canceled automatically.) See Legacy WooCommerce billing.
If the plan doesn't update
If you completed payment but the tier badge hasn't changed after a few minutes:
- Refresh the Billing page.
- Check the checkout tab for a payment failure or a pending-payment notice.
- If payment clearly succeeded and the plan still hasn't updated, contact StackJack support — include the connector name and roughly when you paid. Support can locate and replay the purchase; you will not need to buy again.
