Activating a Connector (Plans & Tiers)
Every connector in StackJack has its own subscription — you pick a plan per connector, not one plan for your whole account. This lets you run, say, your PSA connector on a paid tier while keeping a documentation connector on Free.
Plans at a glance
| Plan | Monthly tool-call allowance | Tool access |
|---|---|---|
| Free | 100 calls | The connector's Free-tier tools (a starter set of read operations) |
| Pro | 5,000 calls | Free + Pro-tier tools (the broader working set, typically including write operations) |
| Business | 50,000 calls | Everything in Pro, with a much larger allowance |
| Enterprise | Unlimited calls | Full tool set |
- Which specific tools sit in each tier varies by connector. The Permissions page in the portal shows the exact tool list for your plan, and each connector's reference page in the Tools section lists its tools by tier.
- Current pricing is shown in the portal and at checkout — the upgrade buttons on each connector card always reflect live prices.
- Enterprise plans are not self-service in the portal (the cards offer Pro and Business upgrades) — contact StackJack support if you need unlimited volume.
How usage is counted
- Usage counts against each connector subscription's own billing cycle, not the calendar month. The usage bar on the connector card shows where you are in the current cycle and when it resets.
- Failed tool calls don't count against your allowance — only successful calls are billed against the quota.
- There is no per-minute rate limit. The monthly plan allowance is the enforcement point. (StackJack does pace requests to each vendor's API behind the scenes so your vendor account is never hammered, but that's protective throttling, not a quota.)
- When you hit the monthly cap, further tool calls for that connector return a clear "limit reached" error until the cycle resets or you upgrade.

Legacy WooCommerce bundles: If two or more of your connectors sit on a single legacy WooCommerce subscription, each card shows a "Billed together as one bundle subscription" badge. WooCommerce charges that bundle once, on one date — but each connector still has its own plan, usage cycle, and reset date, so the differing reset dates are not separate charges. This applies only to legacy website (WooCommerce) subscriptions; see Legacy WooCommerce billing.
Activating a connector
You don't buy a plan before connecting — activation happens naturally:
- Configure the connector's credentials and save (see Connecting a Connector).
- StackJack automatically creates a Free subscription for that connector the first time you save it (or reactivates a previous subscription if you had one before).
- Upgrade whenever you need more: on the connector's card, choose Upgrade to Pro or Upgrade to Business and complete checkout. The new tier's tools and allowance apply to that connector immediately after payment.
Upgrading, downgrading, and cancelling
- Upgrade — from the connector card. Checkout opens in a new window; pricing is shown there.
- Cancel Plan — also from the connector card. For subscriptions purchased through the current checkout, cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period (you keep the paid tier until then, after which the connector drops to Free). Legacy subscriptions purchased through the StackJack website store are cancelled immediately.
- Downgrades are non-destructive. Dropping to a lower tier never deletes your team members, MCP clients, or stored credentials — only tool-tier visibility and the monthly allowance change.
- A billing problem pauses tool calls. If a subscription's payment status becomes anything other than active (for example a failed renewal), tool calls for that connector are blocked until billing is resolved.
Note: Disconnecting a connector does not cancel its subscription — see Disconnecting a Connector.
