Disconnecting a Connector
Disconnecting removes a connector's stored credentials from StackJack. Use it when you're retiring a vendor product, rotating to a completely different credential set, or off-boarding a tool you no longer want your AI assistant to reach.
How to disconnect
- Open Connectors and find the connector's card.
- Click Disconnect.
- A confirmation dialog warns you: the stored credentials will be deleted from Key Vault, and any MCP tools using this connector will stop working immediately.
- Confirm. The card returns to Not Configured.
What disconnecting does
- Deletes the stored credentials from Azure Key Vault.
- Stops tool calls for that connector immediately — your AI assistant will get errors on that connector's tools until you reconnect.
- Keeps your MCP clients. Any AI-tool credentials (MCP clients) that were linked to this connector are not deleted — they simply lose the link. Your AI tools stay connected to StackJack; only this one connector's tools stop working.
What disconnecting does NOT do
⚠ Disconnecting does not cancel the connector's subscription. Billing for a paid plan continues until you cancel it separately — use Cancel Plan on the connector card (see Activating a Connector). If you're leaving a vendor for good, do both: cancel the plan and disconnect.
It also doesn't touch anything else in your account: team members, tool assignments, other connectors, and usage history all stay as they are.
Reconnecting later
Nothing about disconnecting is one-way. Reconnect any time by clicking Configure and entering credentials again — your existing subscription (if still active) applies immediately, a previously cancelled subscription is reactivated automatically on the first save, and a connector that never had a subscription gets a Free plan automatically.
